Step 2: Make your virtual rally sign!
Thanks for your message of support. It is too bad that you cannot be in DC for the actual rally, but your virtual participation is greatly appreciated.
But it’s not a virtual rally without virtual rally signs, is it? Here’s how you can make your own virtual rally sign and share it with others.
1. Write down a message or slogan.
You can use one of these suggestions below, or come up with your own.
I support the Employee Free Choice Act! Freedom for Workers! Workers need the Employee Free Choice Act I’m virtually marching for workers! [Your Town] Stands with Workers
Make sure that whatever you write is legible and big enough for others to read.
2. Take a picture of yourself with your sign.
Using your digital camera, take a picture of yourself with your sign. If self-portraiture isn’t your thing, ask a family member or a neighbor to take a photo.
3. Post the photo on Flickr, a free photo sharing site.
We are asking everyone to post their photos to Flickr.com, a free photo sharing website.
You need to have a Yahoo! ID to post photos to Flickr. If you don’t have a Yahoo! account, you can create one for free in just a few minutes. Just fill out this form, and remember what you choose for your Yahoo! ID and password.
Once you have a Yahoo! ID and password, follow this link to log in to Flickr.
4. Upload the photo.
Using this form, upload your virtual rally sign.
IMPORTANT: There is a box that asks you to "Add tags for ALL these images." Please copy and paste this text into that box:
araw-virtual-rally0607
Including that tag will allow us to easily find all of the photos of our activists’ virtual rally signs. Please also mark your photo’s privacy settings as "Public." Otherwise, no one will be able to see your sign.
5. You’re done! Now, see everyone’s signs.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to create a virtual rally sign. You can see all of the signs here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/araw-virtual-rally0607 |
