Not My Chamber: Twitter Flash Mob

The U.S. Chamber was caught red-handed trying to raise $50,000 to hire a "respected economist" to "study" (read: attack) health care reform. They fight to block labor law reform every day – not just the Employee Free Choice Act, but sick days for swine flu. Their leaders think climate change is fake. And they even support defense contractors over rape victims. Enough is enough!

We're fighting back. Our tweet-a-thon starts with a twitter "flash mob" at 10am Eastern/7 am Pacific on Friday, 11/20. And the tweets keep on going all day and beyond – so it's never too late to join in!

Start the tweet-a-thon by signing our act.ly Twitter petition to the U.S. Chamber.

Go to http://act.ly/1cc or simply tweet this to sign the twitter petition:

petition @chamberpost: The US #Chamber doesn't represent me. It's Not My Chamber! http://act.ly/1cc RT to sign #p2 #NotMyChamber

If you don't have a Twitter account, you can create an account and sign right now. Twitter is way easier to use than you think. Go here to get started: http://act.ly/1cc.

All morning, and all day, and until the lies stop, we'll keep tweeting about the U.S. Chamber. And whenever we do, we'll include the hashtag #notmychamber. We hope you will tweet often about the Chamber today, and include #notmychamber in all your tweets. Here are some sample tweets you can cut and paste (we hope you'll come up with your own, too!):

If you use Facebook, get the word out to your Facebook friends by posting something like this as your status message:

"Everyone needs to hear this: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants to rig studies to derail health care reform. Join me in taking action at www.notmychamber.org and on Twitter at http://act.ly/1cc."

If you don't use Twitter or Facebook, you can still help. You can sign up for Twitter and sign our petition by going to http://act.ly/1cc. You can also help by forwarding this email to all your friends who use Facebook and Twitter. And of course, sign our "Not My Chamber" pledge at www.notmychamber.org if you haven't already, and ask your friends to do the same.

The Chamber of Commerce is so out of touch with reality that even major corporations – including Apple, Nike, and Johnson & Johnson – have quit or downgraded their memberships.

With your help, we'll make sure the rest of the country knows about the Chamber's anti-worker campaigns as well.
