Ask Congress to Give Workers RESPECT
Ask Congress to Give Workers RESPECT

Last year, the National Labor Relations Board decided to reclassify employees with limited supervisory duties as 'supervisors,' stripping millions of workers of their right to form a union.  The very agency that is supposed to protect a worker's basic right to form a union has once again taken away those rights.

Only Congress has the power to restore those rights.  Please write to your Members of Congress and ask them to co-sponsor the RESPECT Act (H.R. 1644 and S. 969) and give workers the respect they deserve.

Subject: Please Co-Sponsor the RESPECT Act (H.R. 1644/S. 969)

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Millions of working men and women struggle every day to provide for their families. It's hard enough to form a union because of anti-union retaliation; workers shouldn't have to worry about government interference, too.

In 2006, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) ruled that companies can reclassify large swaths of workers as supervisors, stripping away the rights of millions of workers to form or join a union. The NLRB made this decision despite the fact that the new "supervisors" don't hire, fire, evaluate or promote the workers they supposedly supervise.

America's workers deserve the right to have a say about their working conditions, benefits, and job safety. You can help by co-sponsoring the RESPECT Act (H.R. 1644/S. 969), legislation that would clarify the meaning of the term "supervisor" and fix the mistake of the NLRB.

By supporting this important bill, you will be preserving the rights of millions of Americans. Please stand with us in this cause and become a co-sponsor of the RESPECT Act today.

Sincerely,
