Tell Hershey's to Ask Blue Diamond to Quit its Tricks

Blue Diamond runs the world’s largest almond processing plant and produces almonds for our snacks, cereal, and candy.  They also have produced a self-described “aggressive union-avoidance campaign” against their workers who are simply trying to form a union to improve their wages and working conditions.

Ask one of Blue Diamond’s biggest customers to ask the company to play sweet.  Ask Hershey's to demand its supplier, Blue Diamond, quit its tricks and pledge to not interfere with its employees' union organizing efforts!

Subject: Blue Diamond workers need your help

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Your candy bars would taste better if we knew the workers who process the almonds were treated with respect and dignity.

Blue Diamond runs the world's largest almond processing plant and produces almonds for your products. They also have produced a self-described "aggressive union-avoidance campaign" against their workers who are simply trying to form a union to improve their wages and working conditions. Earlier this year, the company was found guilty of threatening, disciplining, intimidating, and firing pro-union workers.

I learned that you're a union employer. As a person who cares about the way a company treats its employees, I wanted to thank you for your stance. You may not always agree with your employees' union, but at least your workers have a process to negotiate and work out your differences. The hard-working men and women workers employed by Blue Diamond in California do not.

Please speak up for them - let Blue Diamond know you won't tolerate this sort of abuse from your suppliers! Ask Blue Diamond to play fair, treat its workers right, and pledge to remain neutral and not interfere with its employees' organizing efforts.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
